The project is also expected to commence in other communities in the district soon.

It will be recalled that the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia sometime this year disclosed that all was set for the commencement of the One-village One-dam campaign pledge of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the Vice President, the country’s agricultural sector was very instrumental to national development; hence government was committed to modernizing agriculture to improve the country’s food security and export for foreign income.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Madam Agnes Anamoo disclosed that, five communities have been selected to benefit from the project at the initial stage.

She said the project when completed, would help provide adequate water for farm irrigation especially, during the dry season.

She confirmed that the project is scheduled to complete by end February 2018.
