According to the founder of the organization Mr. Michael Clottey, the gesture was borne out of a desire to support the beneficiaries some of whom may not have the resources to procure such items adding that menstrual hygiene comes with health implications for girls.

He said as part of his missionary work he has encountered girls who have had to drop out of school because of issues with menstruation adding that some unfortunate ones have had their future prospects cut short because some unscrupulous men took advantage of this need to get them pregnant.

Quoting extensively from the bible, Mr. Clottey reminded the girls of the bibles admonition in the book of first Corinthians chapter 6 verses 19 to 20 reminding them that their bodies constitute the temple of God which they must not defile in anyway.

He urged them to remain focused on their study which according to him is the only way they could achieve their future dreams and pledged other forms of support to them soon.

Mr. Clottey expressed his gratitude to the foundation’s benefactors who helped put some smiles on the faces of the girls.

The in-charge of the Sanwakyi-Afefreso community health planning services CHPS compound Lydia Duah and a community health nurse at the same facility Comfort Baffuor Frimpong took the girls through appropriate menstrual hygiene practices as well as the causes, effects and prevention of teenage pregnancy.

Some of the girls expressed their gratitude to the NGO for the support as well as the new insights gained as a result of the topics discussed.

The Foundation will continue with similar donations to about 10 more schools in other communities in the municipality during the course of the week.
