DCE for Kwahu East inspects ongoing projects

The District Chief Executive for Kwahu East, Mr. Isaac Agyapong together with the District Coordinating Director, District Engineer, staff of District Assembly and Assembly Members embarked on-site inspection of seven-key DACF and DDF funded projects in the District, two of which were renovations and five being new projects.

Early this year, Hon Isaac Agyapong performed the sod cutting of a series of projects which were scheduled to be completed within six months. The contractors were urged to employ 75% of the local people in executing the projects.

The projects include an ultra modern CHPS Compound at Kwahu Nteso, a 30-Bed Capacity Ward at St. Joseph Clinic at Kwahu Tafo, a 3-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Nkwatia SDA primary school, a 3-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Oboyan D/A JHS and a 10-seater KVIP at Asikam. The rest are the renovation works at Pepease Presby Primary and the expansion of Akwasiho CHPS compound.

Speaking to the people of Kwahu Tafo during the inspection of the 30-Bed Capacity Ward for St. Joseph's Clinic, the workaholic DCE stated “when I did the sod cutting for all the five new projects, I urged the contractors to complete within six months period”.

He added that, “as part of my monitoring and inspection role, I decided to visit all the project sites to ascertain the progress of work so far.

I can state that, in all the sites, work is over 60% complete; in fact, the renovation of Pepease Presby Primary has been completed, and the ultra modern CHPS compound at Nteso is 90% complete”.

“I am very happy with how the contractors are working within the timelines and may even complete before the six months given them”, he noted.

The contractor in charge of the St. Joseph Clinic project, Master Hand Constructions, stated that, “we are going to complete this work within the six months given us”. He expressed appreciation to the District Assembly and management of St. Josephs Clinic for the support given them, which has made their work easy.

The District Works Engineer, Mr. Emmanuel also said that" indeed there is real value for money.

The materials being used by the contractors were of standard quality and will help the project to last longer when completed. He also commended the District Chief Executive for always championing value for money agenda in all projects"

Hon. Isaac Agyapong stated that “I am just one year in office and there has been a massive improvement in Kwahu East, especially in Education and Health sector. I can also say emphatically that, over 80% of Debts on previous Physical Project have been Cleared"

Hon. Isaac Agyapong used the opportunity to thank All Staff for the support given him since he took over as DCE for Kwahu East, he also advised all to take the District as their own and work hard for the progress of the Assembly.
