Shai-Osudoku District prepares to fight Covid-19

The Shai-Osudoku District in respect of the novel Corona Virus disease also known as Covid-19 has put in place a comprehensive preparedness and response plans.

The District Assembly led by Daniel Akuffo has reactivated the District Public Health Emergency Management Committee (PHEMC) to embark on Intensive sensitization within the communities.

At the meeting to reactivate the committee, the District Director of Health Services, Rev. Ebenezer Asiamah briefed the committee on measures that have been put in place within the District Hospital and other Health Facilities in the entire District to help protect the populace from contracting Covid-19.

The Medical Superintendent of the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital, Dr. Kennedy Brightson also reported on a structure that has been put up as a holding ward for suspected cases.



Additionally, he said the hospital has set up a triaging area to ensure that all patients and clients entering the facility for services as well as visitors get their hands washed under the supervision and then screened to ascertain their temperature and signs and symptoms before giving access into the facility for appropriate health care services.

The Committee together with the District Assembly has also taken steps to ensure strict compliance of the President's directives.

The District Chief Executive in his closing remarks craved the indulgence of Committee Members to ensure that all in Shai-Osudoku receive the best of health care and as well get educated and empowered in preventing and controlling Covid-19.
