In view of these, a team from Plan for Change Ghana led by the Executive Director Danyuam Eric Bandim, conducted a WASH needs assessment in Tusug, Nabulik and Nanponbauk communities in the Bunkpurugu/Nakpanduri District to understand the WASH related gaps in the area.

The team engaged stakeholders including women, children and opinion leaders to gather firsthand information on WASH related issues in the communities.

The overall objective of the WASH needs assessment was to contribute to the design of a planned WASH support project to be implemented in the area by P4C in partnership with the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church towards improving the socioeconomic conditions and mitigating water related challenges in the area.

To achieve this objective, a WASH needs assessment was conducted, focusing on the current available water sources, water quality and potential pollution risks and highlighting the main reasons for the challenges in the communities.

The provision of WASH services generates substantial benefits for public health, the economy and the environment. Investing in water supply is also a core element of climate change emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
