Mr. Donyina might have done his homework well prior to the confirmation having secured 100 percent endorsement from the 46 member assembly.The new Municipal Chief Executive as part of his victory speech assured the people of his commitment to tackle the sanitation problems confronting the municipality and to help fight corruption.

He also stated that as part of the governments broad target of making agriculture an integral part of transforming the economy, he will make agriculture more attractive in support of the “Planting for Food and Jobs” programme.

He called on all to bury their difference and throw their support behind him to deliver on his mandate for the good of the entire municipality.He expressed gratitude to the President for his appointment and subsequent confirmation by the assembly and assured that the confidence they reposed in him will not go waste.

Meanwhile, the Assembly was also able to elect Mr. Ofosu Korsah as its new Presiding Member ahead of the confirmation of the MCE.

This enable the new PM to preside over proceedings in the house during the endorsement of the new MCE.

Two assembly members were also sworn into office.
