The District Chief Executive, Josephine Awuku Inkoom speaking with Ghanadistricts.com appealed to government through the Health Minister to make their quest possible; adding that even if the district hospital would not be built as part of the Agenda 111, any source that it comes from would be appreciated.

The DCE affirmed their readiness for such project indicating that they have acquired a large track of land and EPA has carried out their assessment and approved of its suitability. “What is left is for the project to be built. We want financial clearance to have the project started.”

The Ayensuano District, she noted is large and require such facility to be able to meet the needs of its people.

According to her the various communities in the district depend on community-based health planning and services centers (CHPS) compound for their health needs.

However, in emergency situation where referrals are made, it gets difficult as such cases would have to go far as Suhum or Nsawam.

She said recently a proposal for some 4 hospital projects under the Agenda 111 was sent to parliament in which Ayensuano was to be a beneficiary.

However, it came out that the proposed projects have faced some challenges; but she was hopeful something good could still come out of it.
