Madam Heming polled 26 votes out of 38, representing 62 per cent of the total vote cast.

The newly elected District Chief Executive, Madam Heming, was grateful to the assembly members and the general public for the mandate, and promised to offer her possible best to attain the needed development for the district.

The confirmation of the DCE was preceded by the election of a Presiding Member for the assembly in an election that saw Mr. Peter Chui polling 21 votes out of 38 assembly members to become the new PM.

Election of the PM was significant to enable him preside over proceedings of the day as required by law.
