The Municipal Health Director, Madam Delphine Gboglovor, disclosed this to Ghanadistricts.com, describing the development as a significant achievement in the municipality’s efforts to improve maternal healthcare and promote safe deliveries.
According to her, the achievement reflects the continued efforts of health workers and other stakeholders to ensure that pregnant women have access to essential healthcare services throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
She noted that interventions such as regular antenatal care, skilled birth attendance, early identification of pregnancy-related complications and timely referrals have played an important role in preventing maternal deaths.
Madam Gboglovor stressed the need for pregnant women to attend antenatal clinics regularly and seek medical attention promptly whenever they experience complications or unusual symptoms.
She also called for continued collaboration between health workers, families, community members and local authorities to sustain the progress made in maternal healthcare.
The Municipal Health Director further emphasized that maintaining the zero maternal mortality record would require continued commitment to quality healthcare delivery, community education and effective referral systems across the municipality.
The achievement is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts to improve maternal and child health outcomes in Asante-Akim Central and ensure safer pregnancies and deliveries for women
