BEREKUM: Women urged not to copy foreign culture blindly

Mrs Attaa Yaa Efiritete, incumbent Women's Organizer for the Berekum Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has advised the youth of the area, particularly women, to critically examine foreign cultures; adopt the good ones and discard the bad ones, to enhance moral development and peaceful co-existence.

She was delivering a campaign message Monday in Berekum to canvass for massive votes to enable her to retain her seat in the run-up to the NPP Constituency elections rescheduled for February 24 to 27, this year.

She urged the people, most of whom were NPP party teeming faithful and sympathizers, not to be swayed by the desire of unwholesome foreign cultural practices so as to copy them blindly, adding that the repercussions were very much disastrous.

The astute politician and business woman highlighted the fact that the Ghanaian traditional values, norms and culture were held in high esteem by the international community, hence the onus lies on us to regard it as prestigious, whilst shunning any other obnoxious cultural practice.

Mrs Attaa Yaa claims to be rendering invaluable support to several hundreds of school children, orphans, widows, women and the most vulnerable in society, the deed that had reformed many a deviant young man and woman and also changed their status on the social ladder.

The incumbent Women's Organizer emphasized her commitment to creating employment avenues for the jobless youth and intensifying education on moral teaching for the youth when given the mandate to continue to steer the affairs of the party in the area.
