Ghana Statistical Service trains staff in administrative data collection

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) in conjunction with the Bono Regional Coordinating Council (Bono RCC) has organized a two day training workshop for Administrative Data Compilation.

The objective of the exercise was to strengthen Data collection and compilation of all MMDAs in the country and for that matter Sunyani West.

Participants from Sunyani West Municipal Assembly (SWMA) were trained on the role of quality Data for MTDP and APR preparation, SDG’s budgeting and reporting, Metadata and its role in data compilation. The training was climaxed with hands on practical training session.

Mr Evans Kusi Boadum, the Sunyani West Municipal Chief Executive MCE for Municipal in his closing remarks, implored participants to practice what they learnt during the two day exercise since data is the life wire of planning. It is in having good plans that we can better the lives of our constituents and also achieving the SDG’s.

The MCE thanked the Bono RCC and GSS for this timely exercise in this era of technology and knowledge economy. At the end of the training workshop, the GSS donated a laptop computer to the SWMA Statistical Department.

This was received by Mr. Evans Kusi Boadum who in turn presented it to the Municipal Statistical Officer and tasked the department to put it to judicious use for a better Sunyani West Municipal.
