NASCO Feeding Minds Donate Computers to schools in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba

A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) NASCO Feeding Minds has donated 75 computers to selected schools in the Sawla Tuna Kalba district of the Savannah Region.

Speaking at a programmer Nahari in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, the Executive Director of NASCO Feeding Minds Mr Seidu Nuhu Banasco who doubles as the Parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency said it is part of their ICT literacy project where they look at equipping schools with computers and ICT facilities and also helping students with ICT knowledge.

He said NASCO Feeding Minds and their partners from Denmark donated 35 Computers to Nahari Cluster of schools. He said they also donated the HP desktop computers, 20 Computers to St Cyprins Minor Seminary in Sawla with the Sawla Girls Vocational Institute getting 20 Computers.

Mr Banasco said these are among the many things they are doing to improve the lives of the people to being progress and prosperity and to add to up to the good quality education we all seek for our children.


He encouraged the students to handle the machines so they can last and also entreated the students to have the habit of good maintenance culture to protect and maintain the computers.
The Headmaster of the Nahari D/A primary school, Mr. Yussif Mumin on his part said getting an ICT Laboratory has been their target and they have laid several complains to the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) and Community members.

He said without the practical, the understanding of the ICT is cumbersome as there were situations they used stones to demonstrate a mouse of a Computer to the pupils.

The Headmaster said the Nahari Students Association put up an ICT laboratory and a library and after completing the building sought help from NASCO Feeding Minds. He said they are more than happy to get 35 Computers and thanked NASCO Feeding Minds who have come to their aid with the computers.

The Headmaster of the Nahari D/A Primary School disclosed that there is no electricity in the new facility to power the Computers but called on the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly to assist on that regard.
