Obuasi Municipal to get NHIS office

The Obuasi Municipal Assembly has handed over a site for the construction of an office complex for the national health insurance service to help improve access to quality healthcare in the Municipality.

The GHC1.5 million project is funded by the Government of Ghana through the efforts of the Member of Parliament for Obuasi West Kwaku Kwarteng.

The Municipal Chief executive for the area Mr. Elijah Adansi-Bonah said the edifice when completed, would ease the hustle the people in the municipality and its surrounding communities especially the venereal groups go through to access the services of the NHIS in other branches.



He said the office would also relieve the overburdened surrounding insurance schemes to enhance the quality of work.

He was of the view that the initiative would enable more people to register and access healthcare by the NHIS card.



Mr. Adansi-Bonah then charged the contractor of the project Mr. Francis Fosu of Brimley Company Ltd to discharge their duties effectively and efficiently and complete the project on the 6 months duration given.
