Dambai marks Indece anniversary

A total of 840 pupils and students selected from seven primary schools, seven Junior High, five Senior High Schools and market women association as well as hairdressers made up the contingents with the Glorious Developmental Brass Band providing renditions to tease out the marching skills of participants.
Three contingents made up cadet corps from the Oti Senior High Technical Secondary and the Dambai Basic School produced the most enthralling gesticulation motions likened to what security forces are noted for, drawing shouts from the spectators.
Mr Patrick Chatty Jilemah, Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive, who read the anniversary address on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, entreated Ghanaians to eschew corruption or more specifically the stealing of public funds, which tended to hold back the development of the country.
He said the establishment of the Special Prosecutor's office now "We can expect more prosecutions for corruption...and public officials, present and past should be in notice."
President Akufo-Addo said the Right to Information ACT, an anti-corruption framework, yet to be passed, would increase transparency and add another critical weapon to the armoury in the fight against corruption.
"We cannot subordinate the common good to build a prosperous nation to the selfish interest of a few.
Present was Mr Michael Yao Gyato, Member of Parliament for Krachi East and Deputy Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources Nana Kwaku Benyenor II, Dambaihene, Heads of security agencies and representatives of political and religious groups in the Municipality.
Meanwhile, an anniversary football gala match is scheduled to take place after the match pass between teachers, assembly staff, GPRTU and security forces.
