He polled 41 votes to beat Mr. Yaw Brenya who managed only eight votes to emerge winner.

In his address, Mr. Kumi asked members to eschew partisan politics during assembly deliberations but rather work hard to ensure total development in their respective Electoral Areas. 

He expressed his appreciation to assembly members for their support and pledged his willingness to work in harmony with all the assembly members to achieve its goals.

The election was conducted and supervised by officials from the Sunyani regional office of the Electoral Commission.
