KMA elects new PM

The Assembly Members of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have elected Mr. Patrick Kwame Frimpong as the presiding member of the Assembly at the Prempeh Assembly Hall.

He won in a second round by polling 53 YES ballots against 3 NO ballots and was subsequently sworn in by His Lordship Justice Kofi Akowuah, a Presiding High Court Judge.

In his acceptance speech, the Presiding Member urged his colleague assembly members to continue with the good working relationship that has significantly moved the assembly to a higher pedestal.

He called for unity among the government appointees and the elected assembly members.

Mr. Kwame Frimpong added that, his main agenda will see to the development of Kumasi and promised to be Presiding Member for all.

“I will be a PM for all and not for a particular group of people, I know where I am coming from and I have to do what is expected of me”, he said.

The Presiding Member then noted that he will seek to the welfare of the assembly members and charged them to help the mayor in the discharge of his duties.
