Mr Cudjoe Kafui Amegah was disqualified on the grounds of benefiting from a curse invoked on the vetting committee and other party gurus in the constituency.
This curtesy call followed a publication on adomonline.com indicating how some aggrieved supporters are threatening to sponsor an independent candidate to contest in the upcoming general elections should the party hierarchy condone to impose on the Constituent a Parliamentary candidate.
The so-called supporters also claimed to have had information from the grapevine that the party hierarchy has thrown out the appeal made by the four disqualified candidates including Mr. Cudjoe Kafui Amegah.
However, Mr. Kafui in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com has condemned and duly disassociate himself from such unwarranted statement from the unknown supporters of the party explaining that he, in particular, was not disqualified on the grounds of their alleged maturity in the Constituency but on the grounds of benefiting from a curse which was invoked by some irritate supporters.
He said "this kind of act should not be encouraged especially in a time we are waiting for the party to come out with a verdict on our appeal tendered before them. I myself have so far not received any information as to whether or not I will be cleared to contest the Primaries so how and where did they receive such information of grapevines; let's disregard such information, rather I will urge my sympathizers to remain calm as we all wait to hear from the party authorities".
"We are all party faithfuls who want to contribute our quota towards the development of the party and the socio-economic development of the ordinary people in the Constituency, one doesn't necessarily need to become a Member of Parliament to realize his dreams and ambitions of becoming a service to his people" Cudjoe Kafui Amega stated.
He indicates that going independent is not the option for him, stressing that he is a son of the New Patriotic Party and will remain as such as his allegiance to the party has not dwindled and will continue to do his very best in any capacity assigned him in order to see NPP Party triumph in the upcoming election.
