KWAHU E: 10,281 farmers enrolled onto PFJ
About 10,281 farmers in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region have been enrolled onto the government’s “Planting for Food And Jobs” flagship programme to help improve Agriculture activities in the district.

This was disclosed by the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr. Isaac Agyapong, when speaking at the assembly’s second ordinary general meeting at Abetifi, the district capital.
According to him, agriculture provides the best opportunity to turn around the economic fortunes of the districts and the country at large which will by extension help to change the lives of many people especially those living in deprived communities.
He also indicated that the assembly has nursed and distributed about 200,000 cashew seedlings to farmers in the districts under Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) Initiative.
Also touching on Agric Extension services, Mr Agyapong revealed that, over 18,629 farmers have so far been reached with new technologies including indigenous microorganism (IMO) technology for piggery.
