GA W: Nelson Mensah, 50, adjudged best farmer
A District Accountant of Ghana's Forestry Commission, Mr Nelson Kofi Mensah, 50, has been adjudged the Municipal best farmer for Ga West in the Greater Accra Region.

He took home items such as Deep freezer, wax print, bicycle, wheel barrow, Knapsack spraying machine, wellington boots, bars of soap and cutlasses.
Mr Kofi Mensah has maize (10acres), Cassava (10acres), Coconut (5acres), plantain (1 acre) and palm (1 acre).
He also has rabbits 100, grasscutter, 50, Goat, 20, layers 500 and Local birds 100. The best farmer also owns a gari processing factory and cold store among others.
Mr James Dodoo Amonor, 42, a mixed farmer took home a tabletop fridge, GTP wax print, wheel barrow, wellington boots, Knapsack spraying and Bars of Keysoap as the second runner-up.
EZZY poultry limited also took home tabletop fridge, GTP wax print, wheel barrow, wellington boots and Bars of Keysoap as first runner-up.
This year’s national farmer’s day celebration was under the theme: Accelerating Agricultural Development through value addition.”
Speaking at the event, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, applauded the farmers for working tirelessly to support food production in the country.
He called on Ghanaians to reintroduce backyard farming by utilizing any kind of space in order to grow and produce more food for consumption.
Mr Wilkinson also revealed the government’s strategic plans to support Agriculture and food production through programmes and policies such as planting for food and jobs and planting for export and rural development.
The Municipal Agric Director also commended the farmers for the support, adding that the department will continue to liaise with them to improve agriculture in the area.
