BAWKU W: NADMO advises farmers to move out of their farms

The Bawku West District NADMO has directed farmers who farm along the White Volta, to move as the volume of the water due to the spillage of the Bagre Dam keep increasing.

He noted that their initial anticipation of the volume of water going down, except in the event of a strong new rains has not been achieved, as the levels rather keep overflowing the banks of the river and submerging many farmlands.

He entreated farmers in these communities; Galaka, Gozongo, Bula-Tapre, Kubore, Yarigu, Timonde, Boya/Kapalsao, Kopella, Gore, Sakpare, Samboliga, Tanga/Kpalsako, Dagunga, Zongoire not to risk harvesting their crops at this critical moment.



The management said the secretariat cannot estimate the extent of damage caused until the water descends. But at the moment all zonal officers and district officers are on alert monitoring the development daily.
