Tromeso community in Wenchi gets new police post
The Wenchi Municipal Assembly has commissioned and handed over the newly constructed police post at Tromeso.

The Security Post Project which adds up to the number of existing Police Posts in the Municipality was part of efforts to bring security to the doorstep of the people in maintaining law and order. The move would enable the Police to respond swiftly and appropriately to protect life and property of the citizenry.
Addressing the Chiefs and people of Tromeso and the adjoining Communities in the area, the Municipal Chief Executive and Chairman of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) Alexander Obour Damoah re-emphasised the significance of the Police Post and invoked the responsibility of citizens to cooperate and support the Police to discharge their constitutionally mandated duties.
The MCE cautioned the citizenry not to incur the wrath of the Police posted to protect them. He assured of providing other facilities including a Fence Wall around the Post to enhance the safety and security of the personnel.
The MCE who continued and completed the Police Post Project paid homage to his predecessors Hakib Dauda of the NDC and the immediate past MCE Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie for starting the Project. He commended the Chief of Tromeso for his effort to get the Project commissioned and further assured people in the Municipality of adequate security.
The Chief of Tromeso Nana Akatawiri Acheampong Amlado pledged his continuous support for the Police to protect his people. The Baamuhene of the Wenchi Traditional Council Nana Adinkrah Asimpi Kosopre who represented the Paramount Chief of Wenchi Traditional Area called on the citizenry to collaborate with the Police to ensure security in the area.
The Bono Regional Police Commander of the Ghana Police Service DCOP Joseph Oklu Gyamerah with Police Capos who represented the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akufo Dampare noted that the Project would strengthen justice and security. A lot of measures have been established to curb Armed Robbery and other forms of crimes.
Recruitment of Personnel and retooling of the Police Service with Vehicles and Motorbikes to intensify patrols and Police visibility. The Service has also established a Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Wenchi. DCOP Oklu Gyamerah entreated the public to volunteer information to the Police to aid investigations to expose and eradicate criminals.
He however cautioned Chiefs and Opinion Leaders from unnecessary intervention and interference to promote Community Policing and beware of scammers/cybercrime/fraudsters. He advised Police Personnel posted to the area to ensure maintenance culture on the facility and discharge their duties with professionalism and best standard practice of the Service.
