Prior to the commissioning of this facility, residents had to commute about five or more kilometres to Margaret Marquat Hospital for healthcare.
The health centre was built with 250,000 Ghana Cedis provided by the Qatar Charity, which is the leading Gulf-origin Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated to carrying out humanitarian and development projects to fight global poverty worldwide.
The first phase of the project, which is the building structure, comprises an Out-Patients Department, Male and Female Wards, Delivery, Isolation, Vaccination, Examination and Wash Rooms, a laboratory and a pharmacy.
The Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Development Solutions Centre, Mr Sebastian Deh, whose efforts culminated in securing the attention of the Qataris for the project, expressed his pleasure in the completion of the project as it serves a basic human need for timelier, accessible and adequate healthcare.
He added that the commissioning of the health centre paves the way for the second phase of the project to commence.“Immediately, we will move to source equipment worth 100,000 Ghana Cedis and a 56,000 Ghana Cedi mechanized borehole for the clinic. The Ghana Health Service will provide staffing to make the health centre fully functional,” he said.
The Atlantic Development Solutions Centre has been very instrumental in facilitating partnerships with Donor Agencies for the provision of development projects in and around Kpando.
One of its recent past projects was the construction of five solar-powered water systems at Avetikofe, Dzigbe, Dzoanti, Gabi and Tsakpe which were funded by the Diyanet Foundation of Turkey and Partners, and commissioned in April 2021.
