Currently, the district boasts two major operational market centres located at Gomoa Aboso and Afransi, serving as key commercial hubs for traders, farmers, and business operators within the area.

In a major boost to economic activities, the Assembly has awarded the construction of a modern 28-unit lockable market at Gomoa Aboso aimed at improving trading conditions and expanding opportunities for local businesses.

The first phase of the project, consisting of 14 lockable stores, has already been completed and is fully operational, providing traders with a safer and more organised business environment.

Stakeholders say the new market infrastructure is expected to enhance local trade, improve revenue mobilisation for the Assembly, and stimulate economic growth within the district.

Residents and traders have welcomed the intervention, describing it as a timely development that will help decongest informal trading spaces while improving accessibility and convenience for both buyers and sellers.

The Assembly remains optimistic that continued investment in modern market facilities will strengthen the local economy, create jobs, and position Gomoa Central as a vibrant commercial destination in the Central Region.
