Nsutem Dahomey, two others to get CHPS compound

Nsutem Dahomey, one of the deprived communities in the Fanteakwa South District in the Eastern Region is to be provided with a community-based health planning and services (CHPS) compound this year.

However, Nsutem Dahomey is not the only targeted community to be built the facility as Dome, and Nkankama are also being considered.

This is to make access to health delivery easier and more convenient to the people in those localities.

The District Chief Executive, Ernest Ofosu speaking to Ghanadistricts.com said the Assembly is not taking the health of the people lightly and is determined to add more CHPS centres to existing ones to particularly serve rural communities.

He said some significant investments have so far been made in this regard and the district currently has some 17 CHPS centres that the people rely on for health delivery.

He said efforts are even underway to get the government to build one of the “Agenda 111” projects - a health infrastructure improvement program initiated by the government in the district to serve as a district hospital.
