AEE: Farmers receive palm seedlings
The Agriculture Department of the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam (AEE) District Assembly, has taken delivery of over thirty-four thousand (34,000) oil palm seedlings from the District Chief Executive (DCE), Rev. Ransford Nyarko for onward distribution to farmers throughout the district.

Under the government’s flagship “Planting for Export and Rural Development” (PERD) programme, seven selected cash crops including oil Palm have been earmarked to financially empower farmers.
It is under this programme that the DCE for the area, Rev. Ransford Nyarko presented the Oil Palm seedlings to farmers in the district.
In his short address to the farmers, the DCE proudly informed them of the success of cash crops including cocoa and coconut which were cultivated and distributed earlier in the district in the past years.
He said many of the farmers who took the programme seriously during the first cultivation season have started seeing the fruits of their labour.
He therefore admonished beneficiary farmers to take the programme seriously to help improve their livelihoods.
He further revealed that a total of one hundred thousand oil palm seedlings are expected to be distributed in the district.
The DCE assured the farmers that the Assembly is still committed to investing more in Agric to enhance food production.
