ASIKUMA: BAC provides entrepreneurial skills to 42 persons

The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district Business Advisory Centre (BAC) of the National Board for small Scale Industries has organised a five-day entrepreneurial training for 42 selected persons in Breman Jemera and its surrounding areas.

The participants were made up of 41 females and one male.

 
The training, sponsored by Rural Enterprise Programme would provide self-employment to the beneficiaries to complement government’s efforts at addressing unemployment in the society.

 
Madam Rebecca Duker, a Resource person trained the participants on Baking and Confectionery, while Mr Richard Dela, Deputy Coordinating Director at the Assembly schooled them on marketing issues, book keeping, customer relations practices and managerial skills.

 
Mr Patrick Asafo Agyei, Head of the district BAC in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) said, since 2016, a total of 308 people, made up 119 males and 189 females had benefited from entrepreneurial trainings from his outfit.

 
He mentioned, Palm Oil, Cassava, Fruit processing, Soap making, Carpentry and Joinery, Beauty care and financial managements, Book keeping, Baking, and Confectionery in the district as some the courses.

 
Mr Asafo Agyei advised the participants to utilise the knowledge and skills they acquired to help improve their livelihood.

 
He urged them to form groups so as to enable them access funds from Rural Enterprise Development Fund to establish their business.

 
The participants were given certificates of participation after the closing ceremony.
