IGP commissions Yamfo District Police Head Quarters

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP Mr. James Oppong Boanuh 20th has commissioned an ultra- modern District Police Headquarters at Yamfo in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.

In his address, the IGP James Oppong Boanuh commended the Traditional Council and residents for coming together to fund the project and appealed for continuous support in terms of logistics observing that development cannot take place in an insecure environment.

He also urged police officers in the area to offer the best of services for residents to have confidence and also be reminded of the strong maintenance culture of the service to maintain the edifice.

Touching on the upcoming elections, Mr. Oppong Boanuh noted that the service is poised to achieving violence -free elections adding that, the service under his leadership will deal ruthlessly with any individual or group of persons who tries to ruin the peace of the country before, during and after the upcoming election.

He however donated a set of computers and a motorbike to the newly commissioned police headquarters.

The Omahene for Yamfo Traditional Area and the President for the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Ansah Adu Baah II, in his address disclosed that the project is “a self-help initiative.”

He explained that security has become a topmost priority of residents hence the need to augment government’s efforts to protect the entire citizenry.

The facility has a charge office, station officer’s office, armory, exhibit room, washrooms and cells. CID office, conference room, and district commander’s office.
