La Dade Kotopon MCE wants La General Hospital project enrolled onto Agenda 111
The Municipal Chief Executive for La Dade Kotopon, Solomon Kotey Nikoi says a stakeholder engagement is currently ongoing to see to the possibility of enrolling the ongoing La General Hospital project onto the Agenda 111 initiative.

Although it used to offer services such as outpatient and inpatient, obstetrics and gynecology, ENT, Dental, General Surgery, Medicine, Pediatric, Public Health among others, the Hospital was pulled down in 2020 by the government to pave the way for a new edifice to be constructed.
However, reconstruction of the hospital has since stalled, raising concerns from some residents of the area

Speaking at the Assembly’s first ordinary meeting on Thursday, the MCE disclosed that the Assembly has been engaging the sector minister to consider enrolling the hospital onto the government’s Agenda 111 initiative which aims at providing quality and accessible healthcare in all districts and regions.
He stated: “The construction of the La General Hospital has been a burden on my heart. I have been in consultation with the sector minister to enrol this project on the Agenda 111”,.
Meanwhile, as an intervention to help mitigate its impact on the society, Mr Kotey Nikoi revealed that the assembly has put up a temporary structure at Man Saamo Kpee compound to provide healthcare for the people.
The structure, known as La Polyclinic, he said provides essential but limited number of healthcare services like OPD, antenatal care, pharmacy, public health and laboratory to the people, and runs 12 hours daily.
He further revealed that the Assembly is also engaging a private sector organization to join hands to convert a private health facility into a polyclinic to help improve health service delivery to the people.
