Ajumako Enyan Essiam District to have a Formed Police Unit (FPU) Base
The Police Administration has concluded its decision to create a Formed Police Unit - FPU Base in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District.

Already some 30 FPU personnel have been posted to the District for police related activities that are unique to this Unit. It is believed that the presence of this Unit will greatly enhance issues bordering on peace and security in the District and the region as a whole.
The unit has been towed by the government with Modern Motorbikes, a pickup and other resources required for their operations in the District and beyond.
Government, as part of its plans is not limited to the establishment of this Unit has also indicated its resolve to also establish a Base FPU. The Base, when completed, will include a training school, Helipad and other essential structures required for such Bases.
To actualize the plans for the building of the Base, Mr Ransford Kwesi Nyarko DCE for the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District this morning in the company of the Divisional Commander ACP Dannis Fiakpui Esq. embarked on a search for a hundred acre land (100 acre) for the establishment Base, visited some Chiefs who are custodians of lands in the District.
Indeed the visit did yield highly positive results as several lands have been identified within the District for the intended purpose.
There are plans for further visits all aimed at selecting the best location for the Base. Ultimately, the IGP, Dampare is expected to visit to conclude all negotiations and documentation of the selected location. Principally, the land that would pass the selection test should reach a total of 100 acres and litigation free land.
It is hopeful that the establishment of this Base will not only enhance the provision of security services but also lead to employment opportunities for the youth of the District.
