In recent months, the constituents have been grappling with erratic power supply, particularly in the evenings, prompting the MP to intervene by engaging with the ECG, for the action needed to be taken.

Mr. Tsekpo said the visit also gave him the opportunity to familiarise with the operations of ECG, while presenting the numerous public complaints to its leadership for urgent redress.

He said there were also concerns regarding meter removals, streetlight functionality and the transition between post-paid and prepaid meters.

Mr. Tsekpo urged the Management to leverage the media within the Constituency to educate the public, address their concerns and enhance transparency in service delivery, adding that he remained committed to ensuring that Hohoe received the quality and reliable power supply it deserved.

Mr. Godwin Jackson Gone, the Hohoe District Manager, ECG, said the recent power outages extended beyond the Constituency, explaining that electric power to the Municipality was supplied from the Kpando main transformer, which also served Dambai.

He said the population growth along the corridor had significantly over burdened the transformer, resulting in supply deficiencies.

Mr. Gone also said the ongoing gas pipeline maintenance by GRIDCo had further compounded the situation but assured that in the coming weeks, an additional transformer would be installed to ease the load, while the completion of the gas pipeline maintenance would restore stability to the power supply.
