Chiefs commend gov’t for development projects

Chiefs in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti Region have commended the Government and the District Assembly for initiating a number of projects to enhance the development of their respective areas.

They have, however, asked the government to sustain the development momentum in the areas. They said interventions like health facilities, education infrastructure, and Agriculture, sanitation, as well as poverty reduction have improved a lot of the people in their respective communities.

The chief of Asempanaye Nana Kofi Aboagye III who was also the Chairman for the function made the commendation at meet the Press at Akumadan, the district capital.

He said the people of the area were particularly touched and overwhelmed by the fact that government did not discarnate in the distribution of development projects in the country and called on government and the DCE to continue with programme that would guarantee the stability of the area.



Nana Aboagye commended the Member of Parliament for the Area Hon. Collins Ntim and the DCE, Mr. David Asare for coming together to ensure peace and development in the area and appealed to them to continue with the co-existence to ensure that more developmental projects are initiated and distributed equally in the area.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Hon. David Kwasi Asare, assured the people that government would continue to execute programmes that would go a long way to enhance their living conditions.

Mr. Asare expressed his appreciation to the chiefs and people of the area for their support and encouragement and pledged to do more to ensure the lives of the people are better in the district saying “I can only do this if you continue to vote for the NPP to remain in office”.

He said development could only take place when there is peace and co-existence and appealed to the people to maintain the peace that has prevailed in the area for the past years.
