This is why the Municipal Chief Executive of Kwaebibirem in the Eastern Region, Seth Antwi Boasiako is appealing to the IGP and the police command to assign more personnel to the municipality to augment the existing police force.

The MCE is not enthused about the current police ratio to citizens in the municipality; speaking with Ghanadistricts.com said the situation remains one of the major concerns he looked forward to addressing with the help of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He noted that with about 140 thousand population and 100 plus towns and villages, the municipality can only boast of a police ratio of about 1:6000 which is woefully inadequate.

The Municipality is manned by two police stations at Kade - the Municipal capital, and Asuom, with two additional police posts at Pramkese and Techiman.

According t him, the Assembly is doing its best to establish more police stations to bring law enforcement closer to the doorsteps of the people.

And by this, it has built a new police station at Otume awaiting the release of personnel from the police command to take charge of the facility. "We've sent our message and demand to the IGP for him to help and we look forward to a speedy response to operationalize the station", he added.
