According to her, marrying girls off at their tender age put their personal development and wellbeing at high risk as they are likely to develop complications during labour.
The DCE, who was speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghanadistricts.com, thus cautioned parents against violating the fundamental human rights of these innocent girls by pushing them into early marriage against their wish.
She urged parents to rather take advantage of the Free Senior High School (SHS) and enroll their wards in school since they are the future leaders of this country.
She also ceased the opportunity to call on all stakeholders and philanthropists in the area to join the fight against this canker to help achieve a better future for all.
