MCE inspects progress of work on GPSNP projects

The Municipal Chief Executive for Lawra, Martin Bomba-ire has inspected the construction of a dam at Eremon-Yagra under the auspices of the Ghana Productive Safety Net Programme (GPSNP).

The projects which are the first of its kind in the municipality and the biggest of all will see Lawra benefiting from two dams, one at Eremon-Yagra and the other at Berwong. There will also be the construction of a 3km road from Kunyukuo Mettoh Boah to the Black Volta River side.

This and many other interventions including the 1V1D are part of government's resolve to see to it that, poverty is drastically reduced in this part of the country through the creation of job, climate-resilient and enhance the socio-economic lives of the less privileged in Ghana's communities, the MCE disclosed in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com.



The Ghana Productive Safety Net Programme (GPSNP) is being implemented in 80 MMDAs across the country with Lawra Municipal being one of the beneficiary assemblies.

The programme is aimed at strengthening and improving the social safety net and productive inclusion of the poor and vulnerable.



The MCE informed the workers at the site that Mr. Anthony Karbo and the Municipal Assembly are relentlessly doing everything possible to better the lives of the people in the municipality and urged them to desist from the habit of stigmatizing projects for political gains.



Mr. Bomba-ire was in the company of the Municipal Development Planning Officer, Engineer, Social Welfare officer and the YEA coordinator and the project is being undertaken by Kelrock Limited.
