ASANTE A N: DCE tasks agric census officers to be focused
The District Chief Executive for Asante Akim North, Mr Francis Oti Boateng has asked field officers for the Agricultural census to be conduct themselves well and be fully involved in the upcoming agricultural programme to know the processes and procedures involved in data collection in order to generate reliable information.

He said the demand for correct and timely information on agriculture for policy planning and implementation was crucial at this time of the country's development.
It was therefore, important for the field officers to be upright and work diligently to obtain credible agricultural data for the country.
Mr Boateng said this during the opening of a 10-day training workshop for Ghana Census on Agricultural field officers at Agogo.
The 66 participants were drawn from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Information Services Department and other decentralized agencies from the Asante Akim North and South Districts as well as the Asante Akim Central Municipality.
The workshop was to prepare the participants with the necessary skills to conduct the census and obtain correct and credible data for the country's agricultural sector.
Mr Boateng urged the members to see farmers as the precious part of the population and be polite in the discharge of their duties.
Mr Agyeman Prempeh Ofori, a facilitator, stressed the need for the participants to be punctual so as to be able to acquire the needed skills to discharge their duties.
