President cuts sod for work on the Enchi-Ellubo Road

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa has cut the sod for the construction of the 71.25- kilometers road from Enchi to Ellubo to help solve the bad nature of their network in the area.

He opined that the road project which is expected to complete within a period of three and a half year worth 1.16 million dollars.

Adding that the road project upon completion will benefit various communities on that stretch, and to create employment for the youth, boost socio-economy activities since it would be motorable for easy movement.

The President revealed this when he was addressing a gathering at Enchi in Western North Region during the day two of his three-day working visit.

The visit also afforded him the opportunity to inspect the ongoing feeder roads, regional office, and staff bungalow situated at Enchi.



He mentioned, for instance, Regional Education at Bibiani, Regional Hospital at Sefwi Wiawso, Regional Forestry Commission at Juaboso, Regional Health Directorate at Sefwi Bodi among others with the vision to bring government closer to the people.

He told the gathering to renew his mandate come December 7 to be able to stay in government to complete this road.

Mr. Amoako Atta, Minister for Roads and Highways on his part assured the people of Enchi that plans are far advance for the company, Kiec Construction Limited to report on-site for works to commence soon.

He indicated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government was determined to construct major roads as had been declared as a year of roads by the President.



Mr. Amoako said road upon completion would go a long way to provide them with access to a good road.

Beyeeman Tano-kwaw Benbuin lll, the Paramount Chief Aowin Traditional Area in his welcome address thanked Nana Akufo-Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for prudent policies and tremendous achievements within the period of three and a half year in power.

Bayeemen pleaded with the government to consider the feeder roads in the area, particularly Enchi-Ellubo which has become a major challenge for the people, stressing that, the bad nature of the road network was hampering the efforts of farmers and traders since they are unable to transport their produce to market centres.

Beyeeman Tano, therefore, pledged named the road after President Akufo-Addo upon completion.
