The project involves road reshaping and rock-filling works aimed at restoring the road network, improving accessibility, facilitating the movement of people and goods, and providing a safer and more reliable transport system for residents and businesses along the route.

The intervention forms part of the Assembly's ongoing efforts, in collaboration with its development partners, to address critical infrastructure challenges and improve road connectivity across the Amansie South District.

Mr Justice Fenteng, Site Manager of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, said the rock-filling phase of the project, covering the Manso Akwasiso–Koniase Nkran stretch and the Manso Abiram section, was expected to be completed within 10 to 14 days.

He said the company remained committed to supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development and improve the living conditions of communities within its operational areas.

Mr Benjamin Marfo, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South, together with the Presiding Member of the Assembly and other officials, visited the project site to inspect the progress of work.

The delegation assessed the ongoing rock-filling activities and expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, commending the commitment of the Assembly and Asanko Gold Ghana Limited to improving road infrastructure in the district.

Mr Marfo praised the management of Asanko Gold Ghana Limited for responding promptly to concerns raised by the Assembly over the deteriorating condition of the road.

He said the partnership between the Assembly and the mining company underscored the importance of collaboration between local authorities and corporate institutions in delivering sustainable development projects that directly benefit communities.

The DCE assured residents that the Assembly would continue to work with stakeholders to improve road infrastructure, enhance economic activities, and create better living conditions for the people of Amansie South.

Residents and road users have welcomed the intervention, expressing optimism that the completion of the project will ease transportation challenges, improve access to neighbouring communities, and stimulate economic activities along the corridor.
