The experts will also assist in reclaiming degraded lands for agricultural use.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nana Adu Sarpong Addo Aikins, the move aligns with the government’s cooperative mining initiative aimed at curbing illegal mining and promoting land reclamation for productive ventures such as agriculture.

In response to rising unemployment in the municipality, the MCE stated in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, that the Assembly is implementing measures to engage the youth in government-supported agricultural programs.

He said efforts are also underway to secure lands through collaboration with the office of the Okyehene, His Royal Majesty Osaagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, and local chiefs in the area.

“The main issue that the youth face when they want to engage in farming is land. Most of them don’t have access, so this initiative will assist those ready to venture into agriculture,” the MCE noted.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting agriculture and encouraged the youth to actively participate in the available initiatives.
