Be transparent in discharge of duties, says Tarkwa MCE
The Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive, Gilbert Ken Asmah has called on people in leadership positions to be transparent in the discharge of their duties in order to sustain the confidence and credibility reposed in them by the people they serve.

He explained that anything action clouded in secrecy especially issues bothering labour casts doubt on the integrity of the person, he said.
Hon Asmah was swearing in the 12-member Employment Committee of the Ghana Manganese Company (GMC) at an inaugural ceremony at GMC.
The committee, which has the DCE as its chairman, included representatives from the seventeen catchment communities within which Ghana Manganese operates, the members include Richard Ntiako, Esuoso Youth, Gladys Adjei, Akyem youth, Richard Nkrumah Baffour, Banso, Goodberg Eduaful, Senyakrom electoral area, Nana Ampong Kwasi II, Bonsawire, Nana Ampong Adu II, Agona Wassa, Papa Essel, ESDC Secretary, Sauty Omar Timtey, GMC, Wisdom Adjei Mensah, GMC.
The President's representative for Tarkwa-Nsuaem hinted that the committee will exercise oversight responsibilities for the smooth recruitment of the indigenes in the wake of new employment with collaboration with management of GMC
The MCE appealed to the committee to explain the issues relating to the employment module well to the local people for them to understand the need for everybody to understand and embrace the aftermath of the interviews granted.
He further urged the committee to avail themselves to GMC on timely basis for internship, attachment and National service slots, he bemoaned the usual practise where undue pressure is mounted for such placement at the eleventh hour which he said were not good.
In his brief remarks, Wisdom Adjei Mensah, Human Resource Manager of GMC said the objective of the committee was to serve as a liaison between the local people and the company for the purposes of equity and fairness in the area of employment.
Furthermore, the committee will help in identifying the true indigenes within all the catchment communities within which GMC operates in order to achieve the desired goals, he added.
Present at the gathering were the Municipal labour Officer, Community Affairs Manager for GMC, Ag Public Relations Officer for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly among others.
