OFFINSO: Parliamentary candidates woo candidates

As part of the preparation to mark the up-coming December 7th general elections, a parliamentary candidate’s debate has been held for all the parliamentary candidates in Offinso Municipal today, Monday 24th October, 2016.

This exercise, carried out in all the 275 constituencies nationwide, is aimed at giving an opportunity to the potential members of parliament to interact with their constituents on how they will represent their interest in parliament.

The event kick start with a peace walk early in the morning followed with a grand durbar at the forecourt of the palace.

All the five contending parliamentary candidates namely; Hon. Ben Abdallah Banda (NPP), Hon. Juliana Annorhene (NDC), Hon Grace Donyeh (CPP), Hon. Kwadwo Amoateng (PPP), and the Independent Candidate, Hon. John Akwasi Amponsah joined with the people of Offinso to declare PEACE in the up-coming polls as they walked across the length and breadth of the Municipality in their colourful political outfits.

The event heated up when candidates were given a 5 min platform to showcase their plans as to what they will do when given the nod to represent the people in parliament. As anticipated, they were bombarded with series of questions which centered on education, agriculture, infrastructure, health, sanitation, and sports and they answered all to the best of their knowledge.

The Nkosohene of Offinso and Chairman of the occasion, Nana Adusei Boateng congratulated the candidates for their innovative ideas and also wished them well when they go to the battle.

He finally urged all present to tolerate and live peacefully with one another as we near the December elections.

Some members in attendance were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Kwaku Gyimah, the Deputy Regional Director of NCCE, Mr. Arthur Lawson, political party representatives, Assembly Members, Heads of Department, Students, and the general public.
