COVID-19: MLGRD donates to Ablekuma Central

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has yesterday donated items worth thousands of cedis to the Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, to help in the fight against the Coronavirus.

The feature according to information forms part of the government's national disinfection exercise in addressing the deadly outbreak.

Some of the items donated were Veronica buckets, towels, liquids soaps, hand sanitizers, and many other items.

The items are meant to be distributed to market places and other places within the municipality.

Speaking with the media after the presentation, the Deputy Minister for the Local Government Ministry, Mr. Collins Ntim, stated the gesture is one of the government plans in addressing the virus within the various municipalities across the country.

He assured that the government is taking all the necessary steps in ensuring that every individual in the country is safe.

The Minister, therefore, called on the need for Ghanaians to adhere to the directives of President Nana Akufo Addo in addressing the menace in the country.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer of the Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, Mariama Kaley Amui, who received the items thanked the ministry for the kind feature.

She was therefore hopeful the items would go a long way to help in addressing the virus within the area.
