Mr Ransford Delali Kasu, Assembly Member for Klefe Electoral Area in the Ho Municipal Assembly has instituted a scholarship scheme for basic school pupils in the area.

The annual scholarship package includes admission fee and other supports for two Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates with aggregate 10 or better.

Mr Kasu announced this at a durbar he organised to raise funds for some community development projects.

He said the initiative was to help improve standard of education in the area, hitherto known for education excellence.

Mr Kasu expressed worry about the current state of education in the Municipality and underscored the need for major stakeholders to institute measures to address the situation.

He appealed to head teachers to intensify supervision and ensure that teachers gave their best to pupils.

Togbe Kwaku Dzaga XI, Paramount Chief of Klefe Traditional Area appealed to government to establish a vocational school in the area.

The best BECE candidate for Klefe Dome Junior High School in 2013 had aggregate 22 while that of Klefe Achatime Junior High School had aggregate 19.

The fundraising yielded a total of GH7,000.00.
