Friends of the Nation, an environmental non-governmental organization (NGO),has extended its warmest felicitations to Mr James Atta Kakra Baidoe on his assumption to the office of the Nzema-East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

A statement signed by the Executive Director of the NGO,Mr Mevuta Donkris, said Mr Baidoe,s appointment and subsequent confirmation was ample testimony of the confidence President John Dramani Mahama and the people of the area have in him.

According to the statement, the MCE will bring his expertise as a member of the Community Environmental Monitoring Advocacy (CEMAG) to advocate transparency, accountability and environmental sustainability in the emerging oil and gas industry.

This, the statement noted would be leveraged on to effect changes in the lives of people in the municipality and the Western Region as a whole.

The NGO further assured Mr  Baidoe of its collaborative effort in deepening citizen’s participation in governance and promoting good environmental practices.
