The meeting was historic, as it was the first meeting for the first substantive District Chief Executive (DCE) for the nascent District Assembly.

The Assembly, he said as an important stakeholder was deeply committed to implementing the goals of the “Better Ghana Agenda” by continuously reviewing the development programmes and taking into consideration the extent to which they were addressing the real needs of the people.

In pursuit of the above policy, the DCE said the responsibility for development had been ceded to the Assemblies with the support of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and the District Development Fund (DDF) among others. He added that for this reason, the Techiman North District Assembly in 2011 received GH₵278, 544.00, made up of GH₵236, 554.00 in respect of an Investment Grant and a capacity Building Grant of GH₵41, 990.00.
