About 200 houses including other assorted items have been destroyed by a heavy downpour in Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East of the Western Region rendering over 500 residents homeless.

About 200 houses including other assorted items have been destroyed by a heavy downpour in Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East of the Western Region rendering over 500 residents homeless.

The District Chief Executive Baidoo Acheampong, in an interview expressed shock about the whole incident but vowed the assembly will do its possible best to support victims of the tragedy.

He however called on other development partner to come to their aid.
 
Other affected properties in the area include the Amenfiman Primary and Junior High School (JHS), Social Welfare Center and Presbyterian Primary and JHS among other basic infrastructure in the area.
