Government has supported surviving victims of last Tuesday’s tragic accident at Senya Bereku in the Central Region with GHs10, 000.00.

The donation which was made on behalf of government by the Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa-Doe was to cater for their medical expenses at the Winneba Government Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Vice President John Mahama also sympathized and extended government condolence to the victims and the bereaved families for their loss especially so when most of the victims were very young with a lot of life ahead of them.

He also directed the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO to offer any needed assistance to the surviving victims as well as families of the 27 who lost their lives through the tragedy.

He urged drivers to be more responsible on the road especially with the maintenance of their vehicles to ensure they are safe for the road.  
 
Acting Medical Director, Dr George Kwame Prah, Acting Medical Director of the Winneba Government Hospital, thanked government for the support adding that the victims were all responding to treatment.

A water tanker that run into some holiday makers last Tuesday killed 27 and injured dozens of others.
