The Deputy Minister for the Upper East Region, Mrs. Lucy Awini, has advised the youth to use positive ways in transforming their lives for a better future.

She said this at a sexual and reproductive health programme organized by Youth Harvest Foundation Ghana (YHFG), a local non- governmental organization, for senior high schools in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

Mrs. Awini said it paid to have good morals "this is because you will become much responsible to those around you and instrumental to the development of the country."

She said avoiding early sex and concentrating on studies would prevent them from contracting the HIV.

Mr. James Daud Abang-Gos, the Regional Coordinator of the National Youth Council (NYC), advised the participants to take their religious lives seriously because it would guide and prepare them for the future.

Five participating schools including the Bolgatanga Girls Secondary, the Zurungu Senior High, Bolgatanga Senior High, the National Vocational Training Institute and the Bolgatanga Technical Institute (BOTEC) debated on the topic: The Music Industry is the main cause of Sexual Promiscuity in the country.

At the end of a long stretching debate among the schools Bolgatanga Senior High took the first position. The participating schools were presented with certificates.
