The Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Mr. Caesar Kale, says the
National Democratic Congress (NDC) is poised to win the 2012 elections and has urged the newly elected constituency executives of the party to see that as a challenge and work towards its achievement.
He said the constituency election was therefore all about getting a formidable team to work towards the 2012 elections.
"We are not conducting the elections to oust anybody of any position; we want to elect people to ensure that the NDC wins power to continue to carry out its development agenda to benefit the people," he said.
Mr. Kale was addressing Lawra/Nandom constituency delegates’ conference of the NDC at Lawra.
He said the elections was not a do or die affair, and called on supporters and sympathizers of the party to remain united and work together in the interest of the NDC.
Mr. Kale reminded the supporters and executives of the NDC in the Lawra/Nandom constituency about the task ahead to win back the seat they lost to the NPP.
"The old executives of the party had worked hard to win the elections for the NDC in 2008, it is now left to the new executives to also win the 2012 elections for the party, and this task must be achieved at all cost," he said.
Mr. Kale warned supporters of the party to be disciplined and law abiding, and avoid engaging in negative activities that has the tendency of damaging the good reputation of the NDC and its leaderships.
He said the regional executives were aware that some people in the opposition had started going round the communities, asking supporters what the NDC had done for them, in its 10 months rule.
The attempts by the opposition people should not discourage anybody in the NDC, because government was aware of their plight and would soon come out with good policies and programmes to benefit them, he added.
