Mr Harry Owoo, the Krachi West District Planning Officer said the maiden Volta Investment Fair was a laudable idea which needed to be carried out yearly to open up the region’s business potentials which abound.

He was however, not enthaused about some organisational prosedures and called for a second look at those aspects.

Mr. Owoo has therefore advocated for district assemblies to be given the opprtunity to deliver lectures to brief investors on the potentials of their districts and their plans towards developing the districts, indicating that what happened at the fair was like every district was doing its own thing.

"The Krachi West District Assembly was looking forward to getting investors who will help add value to our yam which is the main crop produced in the district. Even though we could not achieve that since no investor shown interest, we hope our interractions with others will enable us explore other areas for development", he added.

He called for the creation of enabling environment including establishment of guest houes, hotels and improvement on roads as a means of encouraging people to show willingness to work in the district as that has also been identified as a major obstacle to the development of the district.
