(GWOLLU) SISSALA WEST: Okudzeto bemoans smuggling of Petroleum products

bemoaned the high rate at which petroleum products are being smuggled from Gwollu, the Sissala West District capital to Burkina Faso.

A Deputy Minister of Information, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa has bemoaned the high rate at which petroleum products are being smuggled from Gwollu, the Sissala West District capital to Burkina Faso.

He said the smugling of petroleum products to neigbouring countries was not only illegal and unacceptable but also has economic ramifications on the national purse.

Mr. Okudzeto-Ablakwa made this observation when he paid a working visit to Gwollu in the Upper West Region to assess the extent of loss to country incurs as a result of the phenomenon. 
  
He said the government had been alerted of the situation and was going to get tough on culprits, as new systems and measures have been put in place to check the practice. 

He appealed to the security personnel and members of the district
assembly to collaborate with the traditional authorities to help reduce
the smuggling.
